Linda Whitney

Linda Linda Whitney is Garden Retreat Design's principal and designer. Linda has been gardening and designing most of her life, and has one foot in the arts, one in the in the sciences, and a third foot in athletics. An award-winning ceramic artist, photographer and painter, Linda has a BS degree with magna cum laude honors, in Psychology and Exercise Science with minors in Studio Arts and Spanish from Newcomb College at Tulane University. She received her certificate for landscape design at Mesa College, and has studied design, irrigation and horticulture at Cuyamaca College and Southwestern College. Linda has been doing both public and residential landscape designs since 2000. Linda has been a Master Gardener with the University of California's Cooperative Extension since 2003, and has been trained as a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward. She has served on the Chula Vista Naturescape Advisory Committee since its inception in 2006.

In June 2013 Linda graduated with Distinction from UCLA Extension's graduate Landscape Architecture program.

Linda has been a competitive rower and triathlete, is a trained rescue diver, and has climbed Mt. Whitney many times. Linda is also an avid stand-up paddler.
